Gods Role and the Character of Mothers
A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born, she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.
John 16:21
From the beginning, God created women with the purpose to bear life in the womb. Women spend those 9 months carrying a baby, with discomfort, and sometime even health challenges. Up to the last minute that the women push to their last breath to birth the baby they are in PAIN. Yet, the moment that it is all over the word of God says that she forgets the anguish because of the joy that a child is born.
And it is true.
Women have a special connection with their children and the love that they have towards their babies is one that is joyful. As women fall into their motherly roles their character is molded into that character that God created her to be.
How to Honor You Mother
Listen to your father, who gave your life, and do not despise your mother when is old. Buy the truth and do not sell it—wisdom, instruction, and insight as well. The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who father a wise son rejoices in him. May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful!
Proverbs 23:22-25
Now as children, God makes it clear that we must walk in light and honor our mothers. They aren’t going to be perfect, but through their life and the role that they had in raising you or the children that she has, is one to be praised.
Sometimes the way of praising and honoring your mother is by words and other times it is simply be listening to their instruction. Especially when it is guided through the wisdom of God, that is held at a higher standard of faith and direction.
“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—
Ephesians 6:2
The word says, that in doing so- and in honoring your mother, it is a promise so that you may enjoy a long life on Earth. So not just live a long life, but it will be one that you actually get to enjoy.
